Hello — my name is ________________ and I am the Biologic Coordinator at ________________. Your provider has recommended a specialty medication to treat your condition. These medicines need insurance approvals, a special pharmacy and manufacturer programs — my job is to handle that paperwork for you. I'm going to help you navigate this process. You are not doing it alone.

Your medication schedule
- Starting doses: 150 mg SC at week 0 and week 4, then every 12 weeks
- Ongoing doses: 150 mg SC every 12 weeks
- Each refill covers: 1 per 84 days
- This schedule is for: Adult
Before you start
- A tuberculosis (TB) blood test is required before you begin. We will arrange this and let you know when the result is back.
- Check your vaccines with your primary care doctor. Live vaccines cannot be given once you have started this medicine.
- Lab work is usually needed once a year while you are on treatment.
Follow-up visits
Your insurance needs proof the medicine is working, so these visits matter:
- 3 months after starting
- 6 months after that
- Once a year if you are doing well
Answer the phone
You will get calls from the specialty pharmacy, the manufacturer program and our office — often from numbers you do not recognize.
This is the most common cause of delayPlease answer these calls, keep your voicemail set up and not full, and check your messages. Missed calls are the single most common reason a medication never gets delivered.
Help with cost
These medicines are expensive even with insurance, so there is almost always help available:
- Copay card — for commercial insurance this often brings your cost down to $5 per refill. We will enroll you.
- Skyrizi Bridge — if your insurance is slow or says no at first, this program can supply your medicine while we work on the approval.
- Patient assistance — if your insurance will not cover it, AbbVie Patient Assistance Program may provide the medicine at little or no cost if you qualify.
What we need from you
- Answer calls and keep your voicemail working.
- Tell us straight away if your insurance changes — it affects everything.
- Tell us if your phone number, address or email changes.
- Sign and return manufacturer paperwork promptly.
- Tell us if you receive a letter from your insurer, or if you cannot afford the medicine.
- Contact us before you stop treatment, and if a shipment is late or missing.
Any question is welcomeCall your coordinator about your medication, injection training, manufacturer programs, pharmacy problems or insurance approvals. No question is ever unwelcome.
